HIRSCHENGASSE
In Hirschengasse in Vienna's sixth district, the basic task was to convert a former student guesthouse into a residential complex. The guest house consisted of two opposite buildings, one from the turn of the century and one from the 60s.
After the building fabric and the existing floor plans of the old building did not make sense to renovate it, it was demolished and replaced by a new building. The second building, a reinforced concrete skeleton structure, was gutted, the infrastructure was renewed, appropriate housing units were created and the façade was completely rebuilt. In view of the existing 100% construction of the property, a children's play/common room was installed on the ground floor.
In total, almost 70 rental apartments were created in both buildings. The texture of the façade conveys the togetherness of the two different buildings to the outside.
